Trustee Vicki Nesbitt will be going the extra mile (well, the extra 13.1 miles to be exact!) for the Foundation when she takes part in the Great North Run in September.
A veteran of the huge event, Vicki has already completed the Great North Run some 11 times in the past, but the 12th is set to be extra special as she runs in memory of her dad, in whose name the Foundation was set up.
“I’ve run for a number of different charities in the past, but this year it was always going to be for the Foundation,” she told us.
“I’m well into my training now but I am not sure I will be able go get near the 2 hours 12 minutes I ran the Peterlee Half Marathon in back in 1987.
“The important thing is that I will hopefully be raising lots of money for the charity that we can start putting to good use for youngsters in cricket right across our area.”
