Our Aims
The aim of The Roy Simpson MBE Foundation is to contribute to the advancement of the amateur sport of cricket, in East Durham and surrounding areas for the public benefit in particular young people, by the provision of or assistance in the provision of facilities, equipment and coaching where possible.
We are determined to have a positive impact on young people playing cricket across our region in terms of providing facilities, equipment and coaching where possible.
Roy was incredible passionate about youth cricket, and he loved nothing more than seeing young people playing the game – he even coached Peterlee’s junior teams almost single-handedly for many, many years.
We wanted to ensure we do his legacy proud through this charity but enhancing the platform on which young people can be introduced to cricket and develop their skills.
Our aim is to partner with various individuals and organisations to support projects that align with these goals, through the fundraising completed by our volunteers and supporters.
